Beta glucans have been well researched and shown to have a positive influence to overall health. This hearty oatmeal is made with steel-cut oatmeal and naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup. You can mix it all in the slow cooker and wake up to the smell the nutritious breakfast that is sure to satisfy your hunger! Swapping out cow’s milk and butter for plant-based substitutes makes this an extremely healthy meal that is guilt-free and supportive to overall health.



2 apples, peeled, cored, chopped

1.5 cups almond milk

1.5 cups water

1 cup steel-cut oats

2 Tbs pure maple syrup

1.5 Tbs butter substitute (like Earth Balance)

1/2 tsp ceylon cinnamon

1 Tbs ground flaxseed

1/4 tsp salt





Use butter substitute to coat the inside of your slow cooker. Add all ingredients and stir. Cover and cook on low for approximately 7 hours (cooking times can vary depending on unit). Enjoy!
